Chemical Supplier Sohar Industrial Zone: Floor Stripper Delivered from Barka
October 31, 2026
Floors in Sohar plant buildings build up layers of old finish, oil and grime, and a heavy duty alkaline floor stripper concentrate removes them so the floor can be cleaned back to the bare surface and refinished. As a chemical supplier for Sohar industrial zone sites, we deliver Floor Stripper from our Barka warehouse in 10 litre and 20 litre packs. The dilution and method are set out below so your team can use it the day it arrives. Send us the floor area and the site address, and we will quote and plan the delivery.
A Chemical Supplier for Sohar Industrial Zone, Stocked in Barka
Our stock is held in Barka, and we deliver to Sohar and across Al Batinah. Floor stripper fills a gap in most plant stores. The process side has its own chemicals, but control rooms, laboratories, workshops, canteens and change rooms in the steel, aluminium, refinery and petrochemical plants still need floors kept clean and safe, as do Majis water sites.
Industrial estate, Freezone and port sites control who comes through the gate. When you order, give us the plant name, the gate or store to deliver to, a contact name and any pass or permit your site needs, so the driver gets straight in. If your store needs the SDS before it receives the goods, raise it when you enquire.
If you also need a general degreaser, Ammonia Solution Liquor 25% (RXSOL-19-1526-035, CAS 1336-21-6, UN 2672) can go on the same delivery. Our record lists it in HDPE drums of 100 / 190 / 210 / 220 kg net, HDPE jerry cans of 20 / 30 / 50 kg net, 1000 Ltrs IBC tank containers and road tankers of 8 / 9 /10 M.T. net. Store it away from bleach, because mixing bleach and ammonia causes a highly toxic chemical reaction, and do not use ammonia on marble surfaces.
What a Floor Stripper Does in a Plant Building
A floor stripper is a chemical solution that breaks down and loosens old floor finish (the polymer "wax" layer) along with the dirt trapped in it. The loosened slurry is then scrubbed off and recovered before the floor is refinished. A floor cleaner removes surface soil and leaves the finish in place. Most strippers in this class are alkaline: the concentrate is typically about pH 12 to 13.7, and the diluted use solution about pH 11.5 to 12.5.
Our Floor Stripper is a heavy duty, highly concentrated synthetic blend of detergents, alkaline salts, emulsifier and chelating agents, and it is low foaming. It does three jobs. It strips all types of waxes and finishes, it works as a degreaser where regular cleaners are unsuitable, and it lets you keep one product on the shelf where you would otherwise stock two. For a plant store in Sohar that keeps its list of approved chemicals short, that last point saves a second approval.

Dilution, Dwell Time and Method
Strippers of this type are typically diluted at about 1:3 to 1:4 for heavy build-up and about 1:10 to 1:20 for light stripping. Always follow the label on the can. A solution that is too strong can attack the floor, and one that is too weak needs repeat passes.
Have your crew work in this order:
- Cordon off the area with warning signs so nobody walks through it. Sweep or dust mop, and remove anything stuck to the floor, because it will gum up or tear the pad.
- Mop on a generous amount of solution, working in sections of 100 to 400 sq ft.
- Leave it to dwell, typically for 3 to 10 minutes and longer where there are many coats. Do not let it dry on the floor.
- Agitate with a floor machine running at 175-300 rpm fitted with a black stripping pad.
- Recover the slurry immediately with a wet/dry vacuum.
- Neutralise, rinse 1 to 2 times, and let the floor dry fully before you refinish. New finish will not stick to a floor that has been left alkaline.
Do not use a floor scrubber to spread stripper on the floor, because this can damage the machine. After the job, rinse tanks, hoses and pads, because slurry left inside can harden.
To size your order, typical coverage is about 23 to 28 m² per US gallon (3.8 L) of diluted solution. Mixed at one part concentrate to four parts water, a 10 litre can makes 50 litres of use solution, which covers roughly 300 to 370 m² in one pass at those typical rates. Heavy build-up needs a stronger mix or a second pass. The 20 litre pack suits large workshop and warehouse floors, and the 10 litre suits a control room, laboratory or ship galley.
Floors It Suits and Floors to Test First
Strippers of this type commonly suit vinyl composition tile, quarry tile, paver brick, terrazzo, concrete and masonry. That covers most plant buildings, workshops and ship accommodation decks. Our product record also lists lino, marley tiles, quarry tiles and wood block.
Many strippers in this class are not suitable for linoleum, rubber, asphalt tile, wood, synthetic sports floors, or painted and varnished surfaces. In Sohar plants, painted surfaces include the epoxy-coated and painted floors found in many workshops and pump houses. Test a hidden area first and let it dry before you treat the whole floor.
Safety, Storage and Slurry Disposal
Concentrates in this class can cause serious eye damage or burns, are harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin, and give off vapours that can irritate the respiratory tract. Repeated overexposure to glycol ether vapour can affect the central nervous system. Some water-based strippers have no flash point, but solvent-rich concentrates can be combustible liquids, so check the SDS for the batch you receive.
Your crew should wear splash goggles, nitrile, neoprene or rubber gloves, a synthetic apron and floor-stripping boots, plus a respirator where ventilation is poor. The floor becomes very slippery during stripping. If stripper gets into the eyes, flush them with running water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. Wash skin with plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting.
Store the cans in a cool, well-ventilated area with each container tightly closed, away from ignition sources, food and drink, acids and oxidising agents. A typical storage range is about 4 to 49 °C. Summer heat in Batinah warehouses and containers can go above that, so keep stock in a shaded or air-conditioned store, out of direct sun and off the open yard.
Waste slurry has a high pH and can be classed as corrosive hazardous waste. Do not send it to drains. For spills, dilute and mop up or absorb with inert material. Dispose of all waste under the environmental rules that apply to your site in Oman.
