Europium oxide (Eu2O3) is widely used as a red phosphor in television sets and fluorescent lamps, and as an activator for yttrium-based phosphors.EUROPIUM OXIDE AR  is a silvery white, with a pale yellow ti. 

Hygroscopic. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Incompatible with strong acids.

Europium(III) oxide is used as an agent for the manufacture of fluorescent glass. It can be used in the anti-counterfeiting phosphors in euro banknotes, red or blue phosphor in television sets. It shows an useful application as an activator for yttrium based phosphors.
