Ethylamine 70% aq solution is widely used in chemical industry for the synthesis of diethyldiazene, dimethylolethyltriazone, ethylcyanopyrolidone disperse and 1,3-diethylthiourea. It is also used in the production of mining chemicals and flotation agents such as isopropylethyl thiocarbamates.

  1. Ethylamine is available commercially also in the form of 50-70% aqueous solution

  1. Ethylamine is used as a reagent in the synthesis of a series of hexadentate ligands as potential antibacterial agents. Also used as a reagent in the synthesis of tetrahydrothiazolopyridine derivatives as potent smoothened antagonists.
  1. The estimated fatal dermal dose of diethylamine for a human is 20 g.
