May-Grünwald solution (Eosin – methylene blue solution) is used with Giemsa stain for histological staining of blood cells.
Used in hematology, May Grünwald staining allows the differentiation of different blood cells. Thus, it allows to reveal erythrocytes, basophils, eosinophils, polymorphonuclears, lymphocytes and platelets.
