Sodium aluminate used industrially as a coagulant and flocculant in water treatment, a mordant in fabric printing, and in the production of paper, alumina-based catalysts, and zeolites. 

Sodium Aluminate is produced by reacting sodium hydroxide with aluminum oxide or bauxite, and is a corrosive substance that can cause severe skin burns and eye damage. Sodium aluminate (formula NaAlO₂) is an inorganic white solid, often found in solution.

Sodium aluminate (NaAlO₂) – sometimes blended with alum to improve coagulation and alkalinity.
